Opening Celebrations by Lachlan Edwards (7:42:06PM EST 29/06/10 - public entry) After 43 years in Exmouth, 4 year in the planning and 5 months in construction we have opened our own church facility! The opening was a great celebration of God's goodness, for it was through him that this project was made possible. Many people have given sacrificailly prayerfully, financially, and with labour to see this project come to completion. Please praise God with us, and pray that this facility is used for His glory. Please follow this link for some photos of the opening http://homepage.mac.com/jjenner/Exmouth%20Church%20Opening/index.html Attached is the Bishops inaugural sermon. Firstly a vertical relationship with God where we honour and worship him and where we expect him to be teaching us through his word. Secondly, the horizontal role is the role each person plays in the lives of the others in church - encouraging, edifying, utilising our gifts for the good of the whole body, and so on. Thirdly, the church has a role in outreaching to the community with the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. After all, our church is the hope for Exmouth. Attached is our four part sermon series on three dimensional church. Penned by a council of Bishops in 325AD it was formulated especially to confirm the biblical view of Jesus eternal divinity. Arius, a priest in the early 300's claimed that Jesus was not eternal but the first created being. Effectively this denied Jesus position in the triune godhead. Practically, if Jesus is a created being then he could not be God. He would be nothing more than a liar and deceiver, and more importantly could not atone for the sin of the whole world. Attached is our 2 part sermon series on the Nicene Creed. Part 1 - The Person of Christ. Part 2 - The Work of Christ. (0) comments
